Learn To Play in the Style of Carl Verheyen

Introduction
This weeks lesson is inspired by LA session ace Carl Verheyen.
A big part of Carl's guitar style is the use of intervallic structures. Using intervals combined with octave displacement is a great way to develop new and exciting ideas.
Part 1 is an ascedening line that targets the chord tones of the A7 chord as well as highlighting the sixth (F#) and ninth (B) scale degrees.
This part concludes with a string bending idea targeting the minor third of the A7 chord (c) giving a bluesy sound. This techniques is also a signature approach used by LA session great Steve Lukather. As shown below.

The second part of the lick is a descedning A7 arpeggio with a chromatic approach note targeting the third of the chord (C#). See below
